Don’t ask what the world needs.
Ask what makes you come alive,
and go do it.
Because what the world needs
is people who have come alive.

Courage & Renewal Western Australia (WA) is nurturing a social movement; a community of congruence enabling people to lead lives of courage and integrity.
As a result of distress, stress, isolation and burnout, we are losing competent and compassionate individuals from some of society’s most crucial roles, as they lose their sense of purpose and passion. We want to create a more just and compassionate world – and sustain the individual and collective leadership we need for such a world. We need more people who can work together to solve pressing, complex problems, and it requires all of us to claim our leadership and responsibilities.
Courage & Renewal WA activities cultivate the heart and soul of leadership, encouraging people to ‘lead from within’. Courage & Renewal activities enable people to:
  • lead and act with courage, congruent with their core values
  • support one another towards wholeness
  • create hospitable spaces for self and others
  • develop trustworthy relationships
  • cultivate practices to sustain themselves and inspire others for the long haul
  • work together to transform the communities and workplaces they serve.

We offer a range of activities including: in-person retreats and reflective groups; and personal and professional development programs. Our facilitators lead these programs using the Circle of Trust approach, based on the work of author and activist Parker J. Palmer, who says:

‘It takes courage for leaders to persevere, to stand out and act in the tragic gap, taking small steps,
day in and day out to create and sustain organisations [myself, families, communities]
where trust, integrity and authenticity can flourish. If we are to make the world a better place,
we need a lot of leaders who are willing and able to walk this way for the long haul.’
